United Parcel Service (UPS) will hire an additional 200 pilots to support its rapidly expanding air business, according to a press release issued recently. UPS, whose international operations have posted double-digit growth amid surging global trade, said the hiring is driven by attrition and recent aircraft purchases. It expects the process to be completed by the end of the year. It has placed orders for 13 more Airbus A300s for delivery over the next two years, 11 used Boeing MD-11s and 10 Airbus A380 super jumbo jets.
